PLYMOUTH PROWLER

PLYMOUTH PROWLER

The Prowler is a great looking car that suffers from an underpowered engine. In the late 90’s Chrysler engineers were given free rein to design whatever they wanted in a hot rod or sportster type vehicle. Thomas C. Gale, Chrysler’s design and international director had a love for 1930s-era hot rods, even owning one himself, and with that in mind the design team created the Prowler. One of the most prominent design features on the Prowler are the open, Indy racer style front wheels. The downside of the Prowler is the engine. While the 3.5 liter V6 did produce 214 horsepower, it wasn’t enough the really get the car moving. The Prowler took 7.2 seconds to hit 60 mph and topped out at 118 mph. These stats aren’t terrible, but considering the Prowler looks like a race car, they should have installed an engine that gave it more oomph.
