CHEVROLET TAHOE SSV / PPV
The Chevrolet Tahoe SSV (special services vehicle) has been produced for law enforcement agencies since 1997. Today, there are two versions of the SUV manufactured for use by law enforcement to include a four-wheel and a two-wheel drive version. The four-wheel version is the special service vehicle (SSV) that is suitable for all law enforcement functions except for high speed pursuits. The SSV is most popular with agencies who find ground clearance, flooding, ice, and rough terrain as issues for performing their duties. The police pursuit vehicle (PPV) is the two-wheel-drive version of the vehicle that can conduct high speed responses without an increased risk of rollover. General Motors has updated the Tahoe Police Patrol Vehicle for its 2015 model, and will include options for both the 2WD and 4WD versions of the automobile.
