The Ferrari P4/5 is a custom made one-off supercar. The original design was done by Ferrari, but it was modified by Pininfarina for film director James Glickenhaus. The project cost a total of $4 million dollars. The exterior is made of entirely carbon fiber reinforced plastic and has styling elements of the Ferrari 330 P4, Ferrari 512S, Ferrari 330 P3, and the McLaren F1. The aerodynamics are so well designed that there is no wind noise even at speeds higher than 160 mph. There is more downforce and less drag than the Ferrari Enzo, making the P4/5 more stable at higher speeds than the Enzo, Ferrari’s top of the like supercar. The P4/5 can reach 60 mph in 3 seconds flat and has a top speed of 233 mph.

The Audi TTS is a little European rocket ship, capable of crushing most muscle cars that line up next to it. The simple exterior design is what makes the TTS so gorgeous. The Hennessey Venom GT holds the current title as the world’s fastest production car. Currently the Venom GT holds the Hypercar world record for 0 – 200 mph, reaching 200 mph in 14.51 seconds. The Venom GT runs the quarter mile in 9.92 seconds, and hits 253 mph by the time it travels 1 mile. With 1244 horsepower produced by a 7.0 liter twin-turbo V-8, the Venom GT out paces any other car on the road. The estimated speed of the Venom GT is 278 mph, but the highest recorded speed of the vehicle was 270 mph. The Venom GT was tested at NASA runway in Florida. The track was only 3.22 miles long, thus limiting its top speed to 270 mph. Composite materials and aerospace quality construction keeps the Venom GT strong and light, weighing in at 2743 pounds.

Debuting at the March 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the Koenigsegg Agera R is one of the fastest cars ever built. Under the hood of this beast is a 5.0 liter V8 engine with twin turbos, producing 1099 horsepower. During test sessions in  Ängelholm, the Agera R broke six world land speed records for a production car, including 0–189 mph in 14.53 seconds, and 0-189-0 mph in only 21.19 seconds. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph. The braking performance required to maintain the Agera R’s  record’s is enabled in part by the Agera’s stability. The adaptive rear wing system is lighter than conventional hydraulic/electrical adaptive systems, and has the unique ability to compensate for head/tailwind due to its spring-loaded design.

Built by Shelby SuperCars, the SSC Ultimate Aero was the ultimate car for a time. Between 2007 and 2010, the Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world. Able to reach a top speed of 257 mph earned the Aero the title. Under the hood rests a heavily modified Chevrolet engine coupled to a supercharger producing 1,287 horsepower and 1100 lb-ft of torque. Carbon fiber and titanium were used to keep the weight of the Ultimate Aero low, making it easier for it to reach blinding speeds. There is no denying the SSC Ultimate Aero’s potential. Once the world’s ultimate car, it should remain as one of the best supercars that ever existed.
