The cars were fitted with radically altered aggressive bodywork, a stripped-down interior, and an enlarged engine. The V12 engine normally found in a Diablo was stroked, increasing the displacement of the engine. This took it from a 5.7 liter to a 6.0 liter. The engine output 575 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The transmission was given a different gear ratio to give the vehicle a more race oriented setup. The top speed of the Diablo GT was 210 mph.
