1969 YENKO CAMARO SYC

1969 YENKO CAMARO SYC

Also seen in the film 2 Fast 2 Furious, the ‘69 Yenko Camaro was won by Brian O’Conner after racing another racer for pink slips with his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII. In a head-to-head race the Yenko Camaro would crush the Lancer Evo VII, but O’Conner out maneuvered the driver of the Yenko and emerged victorious. Used to escape police near the movie’s finale, as well as to chase down and eventually crash into a moving boat, the Yenko Camaro ended up destroyed like most cars in the franchise. The Yenko Camaro is a American muscle power house with a 427 cubic inch 7.0 liter V8 motor putting out 425hp. The Yenko performance package also included a z/28 suspension and gauges.

MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION VII

MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION VII

Seen in the second film 2 Fast 2 Furious, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII was used by Brian O’Conner for his undercover mission to take down drug lord Carter Verone. Turbo charged with all wheel drive, the Lancer easily handles corners at speeds that would cause most cars to crash, allowing O’Conner to win an audition street race set up by Verone to choose the drivers he will use for his money laundering operation. Only used for part of the movie, this is one of the few cars driven by a protagonist that remains undamaged during its time on screen. Due to the GPS monitoring system integrated into the electronics of the car, O’Conner ended up ditching the vehicle for a ride that wasn’t as easy to track.

5TH GENERATION HONDA CIVIC

5TH GENERATION HONDA CIVIC

While only used in the first film and only for a small portion of the film, the modified 5th-gen Honda Civics are definitely among the most memorable in the series. Turbo charged and lowered to the ground with green underbody lights, these cars started it all. Used during the heists of tractor trailer trucks by Dom and his crew, these cars started a long history of crazy stunts seen in these films. While some may forget parts of the first film, everyone remembers the Civics driving underneath the trailers on the highway or the passengers climbing out of the sunroof to fire a harpoon gun through the windshield of the tractor in order to climb into and then take over the truck

MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE

Brian O’Conner’s first vehicle in the series was a heavily modified Mitsubishi eclipse, built and funded by the LAPD-FBI task force with the purpose of getting O’Conner into Dom’s crew. The lime green paint job, large wing, and aggressive body kit cause it to stand out. The 16 valve dual overhead cam 2 liter engine puts out 165hp before the turbo charger and nitrous modifications. With all the mods done to the vehicle it still couldn’t best Dom in a race, but it was sufficient to outrun the police through downtown LA. The car was only featured for the first quarter of the movie, as it was destroyed when the nitrous tanks exploded due to gunfire.

ACURA ILX 2015

Starting price: around $27,000
The engine has 150 horse power, the automatic transmission has five speeds, the ABS is part of the standard features; cruise control and e-stability make it easy for the driver. The interior is decent looking and there is enough room in the car. Cargo space is decent, as well. Perhaps it does not look as elegant as some other Acuras, but it is a good car for this price.
