Suzuki Swift (June 2017)

The fourth-generation Swift hatchback is both smaller and lighter than the Baleno, with which it shares its engines. It has a more grown-up appearance on the outside, but interior space is very close to today’s Swift in order to avoid encroaching on the Baleno’s turf. Handling has also been greatly improved, with Suzuki attempting to match the Ford Fiesta, the class-leader in that regard. The new Swift will cost from £10,999.

Seat Ibiza (June 2017)

The current Ibiza remains Seat's best-selling model in the UK. Its replacement's styling looks similar to that of its bigger sibling, the Leon, plus it's slightly bigger than today's car, with a plusher interior. Power will come from new four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, which give better performance and fuel efficiency.

Kia Picanto (May 2017)

Kia's third-generation city car promises sportier looks, more options and an infotainment touchscreen. More gizmos and safety kit will be standard. The new model will only be available with five doors, and although it’s the same length as its predecessor, it's slightly wider, giving rear passengers more space. Engines will be small turbocharged petrols. The new Picanto will cost from £9450.
