FORD CROWN VICTORIA P71 INTERCEPTOR

FORD CROWN VICTORIA P71 INTERCEPTOR

The Ford Crown Victoria is ubiquitous with police cars in the United States. Beginning in 1979, the LTD, LTD-S, and LTD models of the car began to see widespread use across the country. In 1992, the PPV edition of the automobile was deployed as a major upgrade for law enforcement and was succeeded by the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (CVPI) model from 1998-2011. The car is powered by an upgraded version of the 4.6 Liter, SOHC V8, and is well-known for its high durability. The body-on-frame construction of the car makes it one of the most appropriate vehicles for police use. The feature allows repairs to be made to the automobile after an accident without having to straighten or conduct major repairs to the vehicle chassis. Although the car is no longer produced, Ford continues to maintain the majority of market share for police cruisers in the country.

1956 FERRARI 860 MONZA

 1956 FERRARI 860 MONZA

Current value: $2.5 million
The 1956 Ferrari 860 Monza is one of the most amazing vintage cars on the road today. During the heyday of the 1950’s racing scene, the Ferrari brand had yet to make a name for itself going against the ‘Big Three’ of car manufacturers at the time to include Jaguar, Maserati, and Aston Martin. The 860 Monza was Ferraris response, and it is powered by the strongest four-cylinder engine to ever be made by the now famous car company. The 3.4 liter engine is rated at 280 horsepower which combined with the larger wheelbase debuted by Ferrari for the 860 Monza gave the car the reliability it needed to win on the track. The company would only go on to produce three models of the 0604M variant, and it is also one of the most valuable vintage cars on the market today as well.

2016 Acura NSX unveiled in Detroit

One of the biggest debuts at the 2015 North American International Auto Show is the arrival of the 2016 Acura NSX. After trotting out a few different versions of the prototype at various shows over the last couple of years, the production version of the NSX has finally been made public. It'll fly under Acura's flag here in the U.S. but Honda will market the NSX under its badge around the world

Our commitment was to create an all-new NSX that is true to the heritage of NSX-a supercar that delivers a new driving experience, one where every part of the vehicle is respectful of the smartest part of the car, the driver," said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president and general manager of the Acura division. "The soul of a car is the emotional connection it makes with the driver. With the NSX, that connection will be intense and immediate

Hybrid power

Following in the footsteps of other recently introduced supercars like the Porsche 918, McLaren P1, and Ferrari LaFerrari, the 2016 Acura NSX will rely on a hybrid powertrain. An all-new twin-turbo mid-mounted V6 engine and three electric motors (one in back and two more up front), will power the latest NSX. Acura withheld output numbers and overall engine size but we expect to learn all of that soon. A twin-clutch 9-speed transmission will handle gear changes and Acura's SH-AWD system will assist the NSX when taking corners or braking at speed. Acura has already said that the 2016 NSX's acceleration is on par with the Ferrari 458, which draws power from a 4.5-liter V8 and is good for 562 horsepower, while returning fuel economy numbers similar to that of a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. NSX enthusiasts will remember that the previous generation matched the Ferrari 348 in power and with today's announcement it appears that the NSX has a new rival in the 458

Acura didn't disclose a price for the 2016 NSX but we're expecting it to be in the neighborhood of $150,000. That would put it on par with the Audi R8 and is a bargain when you consider that the Ferrari 458 costs almost three times as much. Honda's Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio has been tapped to produce the new NSX but production will be limited to ensure a high demand

Expect to see the 2016 Acura NSX on the road later this year. Pricing should also be released by then and, needless to say, we're anxious to get behind the wheel of it, so stay tuned

2015 ALFA ROMEO 4C

2015 ALFA ROMEO 4C

Starting price: $55,495
The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C is one of the cheapest cars on the market that look like high end exotic cars. With a pending debut in North America, the car has two seats located in front of the mid-mounted engine, and it has the feel of a $300,000 Ferrari. The two-door couple has rear wheel drive and is powered by a turbocharged COHC 16-valve inline-4 rated at 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The transmission on the Romeo 4C is a six-speed dual-clutch automatic with a manual shifting mode. The top speed of the car is 160 MPH, and it can go from zero to 60 MPH in just 4.5 seconds. The fuel economy of the car is also above average with a 24 MPG (city) and 32 MPG (highway) overall rating.

ALFA ROMEO 4C SPIDER

ALFA ROMEO 4C SPIDER

Expected to start production in early 2015, this suave car is slated to make a big splash in the United States. While they have had success here in the past, this car is the mark of a new era as they reenter the American market. It sports a turbocharged 1.7 liter four cylinder engine. It has a maximum speed of 155 MPH, taking only 4.5 seconds to reach 60 MPH. This makes it a strong contender against other luxury vehicles in the same price range. From a design standpoint, it is as streamlined and stylish as you’d expect from an Italian carmaker. The front end in particular has a unique appearance. This is definitely a car to keep an eye out for in 2015.

2017 Mercedes-Benz V-Class Marco Polo

Priced from £53,180 Release date Now
There can be few people on the planet not familiar with the campervan concept, thanks largely to the iconic, long-lived and much-loved range of Volkswagens built for the purpose over the decades. Even people who hate the idea of camping usually have a soft spot for the thought of living the California Dream in one.
Of course, that lazy-day, carefree attitude rarely goes hand-in-hand with the realities of owning and running one, and that is especially true when you consider the more-than-£50,000 entry-level price for this latest entry to the market, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class Marco Polo. Even on a lease with a £11,000 deposit, you’ll be spending more than £600 a month to own it, making the experience very much at the glamping end of the price scale.
And, much as with a posh bell tent, the beauty of the Marco Polo lies within rather than with its exterior looks, which are a light development of the long-wheelbase version of the V-Class van, upon which it is based. From the outside, then, it is nothing extraordinary. Climb inside, though, and the wooden floor and well-kitted kitchen get the excitement flowing. As keen historians will know, Marco Polo was a 13th-century explorer and author; chances are he dreamed of such luxuries as afforded by this namesake van.
Buyers get a choice of two 2.1-litre diesel engines with differing power outputs, both linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and two trim levels, the higher priced of which is more focused on adding cosmetic addenda than any significant kit.

2016 Honda Pilot First Review

The third-generation 2016 Honda Pilot embraces the mainstream family hauler nature the crossover market has evolved into from its original SUV roots. With tons of new features, it's conservative yet stylish with a heavy dose of refinement.  After a day-long stint behind the wheel, it's clear that the Pilot debuts near the top of a very competitive class

Resized = Right Sized

From the ground to the roof rails, the 2016 Honda Pilot is all-new. Where last year's Pilot was boxy, this new one is sleek and modern, looking a lot like a larger Honda CR-V...or a Nissan Pathfinder. Yet as stark as the contrast is outside, it's the interior that truly surprises. Gone is the hard plastic on every surface, replaced with high-end materials, soft-touch surfaces, and satin finishes. It really does look and feel great, to the point that we wonder if it could steal sales from Honda's upscale Acura MDX
Speaking of the interior, there's a little less of it than last year's model. Second row passengers will find a little less head and legroom, while the three third-row passengers will find themselves a little closer together as well. Cargo space also takes a hit, losing about three cubic feet. Mitigating that somewhat is a new under-floor compartment with a lid that stows inside, effectively adding a few cubic feet. Long-object haulers take note: the Pilot's independently opening rear window glass is gone. Additionally, the new Elite model is the only trim with 7-passenger seating; we hope Honda expands that to 8-passengers soon along with the rest of the lineup. Despite the decrease in size, the Pilot is still one of the roomier SUVs in its class, offering more cargo space behind the third row than the Toyota Highlander and Nissan Pathfinder (although the Chevy Traverse and Ford Explorer both offer more). Passenger room is a wash, with nobody really offering a clear-cut overall advantage

Engine and Transmissions

The 2016 Honda Pilot offers a 3.5-liter V6 putting out 280-horsepower to either the front or all four wheels. It boasts advanced fuel injection, auto start-stop, and other tricks to improve fuel economy while also adding 30 horsepower over last year's model. On LX, EX, and EX-L models, the engine's power and torque runs through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Touring and Elite models get a new-to-Honda 9-speed automatic.  For the most part shifts are notably smooth on the ZF gearbox, however, downshifts take a bit longer than we'd like, and the first-to-second upshift from is still too noticeable
The all-wheel drive system also receives upgrades. Now known as i-VTM4, the system uses a torque-vectoring rear differential to help improve traction in corners, and in low-traction situations like rain and snow. Additionally, all Pilot models except LX now come with an Intelligent Traction Management that lets the driver select normal, snow, mud and sand modes

High Tech

The 2016 Honda Pilot brims with new options from nose to tail, with the exception of the price-leader LX model. For example, all new Pilots except the LX come with at least three USB ports, and Touring and Elite models get five, four of which are the higher-voltage type that can recharge an iPad (LX gets one USB port). Honda's Lane Watch side-view camera is standard on EX, EX-L and Touring models. All Pilots get a multi-view backup camera, but the LX lacks the dynamic guidelines. However, we're most impressed by Honda's decision to make its Honda Sensing safety suite available on all models, except (again) the LX. Honda Sensing adds road-departure mitigation and lane departure warning, forward collision warning and braking, and adaptive cruise control for an extra $1,300. The suite is standard on Touring and Elite models, the latter adding blind spot and rear cross-path detection as well
The other big news is that Honda has, at long last, thrown in the towel on its much maligned in-house navigation system in favor of one designed and supplied by Garmin. Fully integrated into the Honda system, it's a huge improvement. Rear seat entertainment remains a factory option that includes a high-definition 9-inch display that stores in the ceiling, HDMI and RCA inputs, and a 115-v plug for your Xbox

The Drive

Even with 280 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic transmission, the Pilot is not the most powerful or the fastest vehicle in its class, but in real-world acceleration it gives up virtually nothing. Thanks to active noise cancellation, acoustic glass, and other sound deadening measures, it's commendably quiet at speed, significantly more so than the previous generation, and among the quietest in the midsize three-row SUV class. I was struck with how immediately familiar the new Pilot felt from behind the wheel. I'm not talking about control placement or things like that, although Honda wisely sticks to what it knows there. Instead, the brakes feel just right; I immediately knew how much steering input was required for a turn, or how much gas pedal I'd need to squirt into a hole in traffic, or how big it was. The Honda Sensing systems all worked well, with adaptive cruise extremely helpful on the highway
The 2016 Honda Pilot is classic Honda in a very important way: It impresses on all levels, managing at least a "very good" in whatever category you care to name. That fundamental goodness, the lack of any Achilles heel, and prices starting at about $33,200 for a nicely-equipped EX model (skip the LX), and the Pilot looks better and better. The real pricing surprise was on the other end though is the loaded Honda Pilot Elite starting at about $47,300. Yes, it's a bit smaller, but still very competitive in class. In fact, it's likely the 2016 Honda Pilot will continue to be one of the segment's most popular SUVs

Honda FCV concept

Offering the best look yet at a production version of the Honda FCV that will bow in 2016, the Japanese automaker also announced several new powertrains and models expected between now and 2018. In addition to selling this fuel cell vehicle, Honda will also add to its roster of hybrids, plug-in and pure EVs

the recast FCV Concept, which made it global debut in Japan last fall, has a cleaner overall appearance, with the most prominent differences evident in the trimmer and more elegantly sculpted front and rear fascias. It also sports a tidier profile view that features additional real-world touches like conventional side mirrors and a traditional wheel cutout in the rear fender. While we suspect the show car's avant-garde steering wheel may not make the final cut, most of the rest of the design elements on its well-finished 5-passenger cabin appear to be production ready. Details are scant on the vehicle's electric motors, but Honda's FCV is still slated to travel over 300 miles on a single tank of hydrogen and have a refueling time of roughly three minutes on a standard 70MPa pressure line

More Hybrids, Plug-ins and BEVs ahead

Honda provided plenty of good news for those seeking less-radical cleaner, greener alternatives, as well. Over the course of the next three years, it will introduce a host of new vehicles that further leverage the firm's Earth Dreams Technology. At least one new plug-in hybrid and one new battery-electric vehicle are currently waiting in the wings and the automaker also plans to ramp up applications of its current two-motor and three-motor conventional hybrid systems to increase their market penetration here in the U.S. Finally, by the end of 2015, Honda's plant in Anna, Ohio, will begin rolling out a new strain of 4-cylinder VTEC Turbo engines that will deliver impressive performance with exceptional fuel economy

On a more conventional front, the Honda execs confirmed that after the spring launch of the new 2016 Honda HR-V subcompact crossover, a fully redesigned 8-passener Honda Pilot SUV will go on sale followed by an all-new Ridgeline pickup in 2016
